Stage 4 finished on the motor race circuit in Nogaro. It was a slow day with no breakaway until 86KM to go. Anthony Delaplace and Benoît Cosnefroy attacked together. The pair were caught at 23KM to go. In the run in, there were multiple crashes. The first one involved Fabio Jakobsen and Jacopo Guarnieri. Soon after, Luis León Sánchez crashed. Sanchez and Guarnieri abandoned due to their injuries. In the sprint, Jasper Philipsen won, Caleb Ewan was second with Phil Bauhaus third. Philipsen took the green jersey now with a strong points lead.
