Place Name: D 240e
Address: D 240e, 64440 Laruns, France
Details:
The Tour made an early excursion into the mountains for a potentially dangerous GC day. Jai Hindley was one of a thirty six rider break. He had two teammates with him as well as a few from Jumbo Visma and UAE. The maximum gap was four minutes and on the Marie Blanque, Felix Gall and Hindley had a two minute and thirty second lead on the peloton. At just under 2KM to top, Hindley dropped Gall and soloed to the win, picking up bonus seconds on the line and the yellow jersey. He is the first Aussie rider to wear yellow since Rohan Dennis did in Utrecht in 2015. In the GC group Sepp Kuss set a very hard pace pulling out his teammate Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogačar. Vingegaard made an acceleration and quickly dropped Pogačar. At the finish, Pogačar ceded one minute and four seconds to Vingegaard.
