Details: The rain is becoming a thread in this Giro as the riders had a third wet day in a row. Thibaut Pinot got himself in the early move, not for a stage win, but to gather some points for the Mountains Classification. Establishing the gap wasn't so straightforward though, as two riders crashed simultaneously on the wet corner. Martin Marcellusi and Stefano Gandin went down and Marcellusi drifted ack to peloton after remounting. Samuele Zoccarato was present in the break as was Thomas Champion who was the last to join. Drama continued when a dog got on the road, causing a few riders in the peloton to crash, including Remco Evenepoel. He took his time to get back up but generally seemed alright. At 7KM to go, a crash near the front of the peloton caught out Primož Roglič but he was able to re-join after a 3KM chase. Another crash, this time at 1.5KM from finish took down Remco, for the second time on the day. He was visibly frustrated with another rider but again, came away generally unscathed. In the sprint, Kaden Groves got on the board and took the win but a dramatic crash behind had Mark Cavendish sliding across the finish line, holding his bike. He would end up fifth on the stage.
