Place Name: Sp251
Address: Sp251, 32012 Val di Zoldo Belluno, Italy
Details: Three categorized climbs in the final 30KM could offer a launch point for a GC rider to make or take time on the others. A large break got loose and extened their gap to nearly 6 minutes with 40KM to go. Their gap was still over 4 minutes with 10KM to go as Thibaut Pinot of Groupama-FDJ pushed on in the break, dropping everyone but Filippo Zana of Jayco AlUla. In the peloton, Jumbo-Visma took the pace making on from Ineos. It was not long before it was just Primož Roglič of Jumbo-Visma and Geraint Thomas of Ineos. Sepp Kuss made it back to Roglič to help lead into the final 5KM climb. At the front, Pinot led Zana through 400M to go. He started his sprint at 200M but could not shake Zana. Zana nipped around to take the lead and held a slight advantage to the line for win in the Italian tricolore. Nearly a minute later, Warren Barguil of Arkéa Samsic came in for third place on the day. Thomas and Roglič crossed the line together on the same time but they did distance themselves from João Almeida of UAE by around 20 seconds.
