January 31, 2024 Manuele Tarozzi, Alessandro Tonelli , Gorka Sorarrain, Jetse Bol, Francisco Muñoz, Alex Molenaar and Iñigo Elosegui were the break of the first day of racing in Spain for the year. They chose the right day for it, as the peloton were not interested in doing much chasing. The gap got out to over nine minutes with dwindling kilometers to ride. With 30KM to go, the gap was still around four minutes with the final climb looming. Attacks from the break began and the teammates Manuele Tarozzi and Alessandro Tonelli were able to escape the rest. In the final kilometers, the two leaders took a wrong turn but they were back riding in the right direction soon enough. Tonelli took the win ahead of Tarozzi as the peloton rolled in one minute and nineteen seconds later.
