Tour de la Provence 2024 Stage 2

February 9, 2024 Alexis Gougeard, Joel Plamondon, Thomas Bonnet, Kévin Avoine, Jonathan Couanon lead the race but were lept to under a minute with 30KM to go, mainly by Lidl-Trek and Decathlon AG2R. At 10KM, the gap was still 40 seconds but it tumbled and they were caught with 6KM remaining with Groupama FDJ pulling. GC times were taken at 5KM due to heavy rain and a technical run in. Riley Sheehan and Raúl García Pierna pipped off the front and gathered a few seconds, although the stage win was still up for grabs. Lidl-Trek's leadout got pretty sloppy but Mads Pedersen was able to clean things up in the end to take stage win number two in as many days.
