February 16, 2024 Sunny skies shined down on a group of seven riders from Portuguese domestic teams who created the break for the day. There was very little action during the stage until the final set up to sprint. Intermarché-Wanty had it perfect if the finish was a flat run but the 400M slight uphill meant they had hit the front too soon. Out of the last corner, Gerben Thijssen had to close a small gap between him and a Tudor rider. That moment in the wind allowed Wout van Aert to get a run and come over the top for his first road win of the season. Behind by half a bike was Rui Oliveira of UAE and Marius Mayrhofer of Tudor in a bike throw, with Oliveira taking second, Mayrhofer in third and Thijssen in fourth.
