March 4, 2024 Rain has been a common theme of racing this year and the ITT to start off Tirreno-Adriatico was no exception. Early starters had the luxury of a completely dry run and Søren Wærenskjold of Uno-X Mobility took full advantage, besting Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike to take the lead. As the day wore on however, roads started to dry out just in time for in-form Juan Ayuso of UAE. He came in fifteen seconds ahead of Wærenskjold with only a few riders realistically able to knock Ayuso out of the hot seat. Magnus Sheffield of Ineos was motivated and looked to be on a good time but laid it down on a fast left-hand corner, taking him out of contention for the stage win. The last rider to go for the stage win was Filippo Ganna of Ineos. He has dominated ITT's over recent years but failed to unseat Ayuso, coming in just one second short of the Spaniard's time.
