March 5, 2024 The rules for this TTT are slightly different than a traditional TTT. Times are taken at the moment each rider come across the line, not after fourth or fifth rider meaning that there may be more tactical thought into the organization and execution of the event. Astana set a good early time but it wouldn't hold as UAE came through forty seconds ahead. Soudal Quickstep stormed the first half of the course coming in seventeen seconds ahead of UAE at the intermediate time check. Rain started to fall as Soudal Quickstep started on the second half of the route causing them to hemorrhage time toward the finish, eventually coming in over twenty seconds down on UAE. UAE would retain their leads through the end, taking fifteen seconds on Jayco-Alula in second place. The GC would also be re-shaped. Brandon McNulty of UAE assumes the race lead with three of his teammates stacked behind.
