Another strong break emerged to try and spoil the fun for the sprinters who have survived the week. The break made it onto the finish circuit with a one minute lead, being pared down by Uno-X Mobility, Lidl-Trek and Alpecin-Deceuninck. Ben Healy and his teammate Georg Steinhauser of EF Education-EasyPost, Luke Rowe of Ineos, Damiano Caruso and Antonio Tiberi of Bahrain-Victorious and Alessandro De Marchi of Jayco-AlUla were caught on the line going into the last 14KM lap but gave it everything right to the end. Intermarché-Wanty and Uno-X Mobility lead from 4KM to 1.5KM to go. Søren Wærenskjold of Uno-X Mobility got a 20M gap on the bunch through the final chicane. Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek was stuck on the front but in a moment his teammate Simone Consonni picked up the pace and brought Milan into Wærenskjold's slipstream. Alexander Kristoff of Uno-X Mobility opened his sprint early and got the jump, Milan responded up the middle and was able to come around for the win and the Ciclamino jersey. Kristoff held on for second place as a consolation prize for all of the hard work Uno-X Mobility did on the stage.
