A five rider break under sunny and warm skies got the week going. Only Simone Petilli of Intermarché-Wanty, Alex Baudin of Decathlon AG2R, and Ådne Holter of Uno-X Mobility managed to stay in lead when the bunch caught them at 33KM to go,. The peloton were eager to keep the speed up to contest the intermediate sprint with bonus seconds on offer. Egan Bernal of Ineos hit out first and snagged three seconds with Tadej Pogačar of UAE coming across next taking two seconds. Nearly a full peloton made it over a gradual climb then barreled down to town before the uphill bunch finish. Israel-Premier Tech led into the finish, with Visma-Lease a Bike positioned just behind. At 1KM to go, Nick Schultz went off the front of the peloton solo with very little reaction from the others. Bora-Hansgrohe picked it up with 500M to go but Schultz showed no signs of tiring. Pogačar sent off a lightning attack at 280M and got within just a bike length of Shultz but ran out of road. Schultz held for the win, Pogačar finished second. Israel-Premier Tech book-ended the podium with Stephen Williams taking third.
