Rain moved in once more for the final stage around Vernier. Rémi Cavagna of Movistar, Darren Rafferty of EF-Education EasyPost, Marco Brenner of Tudor Pro Cycling and Alexandre Balmer of the Swiss National Team thought that the best place to be was up the road in the break. Their lead was 2 minutes with 70KM to race. Cavagna attacked the break with 48KM to go as the peloton was creeping closer to just over 1 minute. Brenner and Rafferty caught Cavanga at 32KM with a lead of 1 minute. Attacks from Bora-Hansgrohe and Cofidis on the final rise of the day brought the breakaway back but no one was able to get away and the race was all together at 28KM to go. A number of attackers tried to break the will of the peloton but Lidl-Trek and Visma-Lease a Bike were organized and would not let them get far. The finale was tricky due to some tight corners and wet pavement. Coming out of the final corner with 250M, Dorian Godon of Decathlon AG2R started his sprint from second wheel and sped to the victory in a very convincing fashion. Simone Consonni of Lidl-Trek finished second with Dion Smith of Intermarché-Wanty gathering a third place, at least 5 bike lengths behind.
