A long transfer South to the Eternal city for the final stage of the 107th Giro d'Italia. Ewen Costiou of Arkéa-B&B Hotels, Alex Baudin of Decathlon AG2R, Mikkel Honoré of EF-Education EasyPost, and Martin Marcellusi of Bardiani CSF-Faizanè attacked and got away at 65KM to go after entering the local circuit. Their maximum gap got to 35 seconds but were caught with just over 13KM remaining. Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek had a mechanical with 8.5KM to go. It took a long time for the car to come up to swap out the bike. Milan got through the cars to the back of the peloton with 4KM to go but still had to make his way through the group. Ineos was driving the pace to keep safe, then giving way to Groupama-FDJ. Lidl-Trek hit the front with 1.7KM to go with Milan on the wheel, Soudal Quickstep positioned well just behind. In the sprint, Tim Merlier of Soudal Quickstep hit the gas on the cobbles with 200M to go and held three bike lengths to the finish for his third sprint win, equaling Milan's total for this Giro. Milan himself got up for second but the chase back on surely had an impact and could not challenge Merlier. Kaden Groves of Alpecin-Deceuninck continued his string of high finishes to round off the podium. The final classifications include Pogačar taking Overall GC and the Mountains jersey. Jonathan Milan won the ciclamino Sprint Classification, Antonio Tiberi of Bahrain-Victorious took the White Youth Classification and Decathlon AG2R won the Team's Classification.
