Tour of Norway 2024 Stage 1

May 23, 2024 A group of 7 made the break from the start but Lidl-Trek never let them gain much ground, keeping them around 90 seconds. The bunch slowly wound them in, making the catch with 4KM to go at the base of the small climb to the finish. Tudor Pro Cycling put on the pace, dropping the majority of the peloton. Uno-X Mobility took over and led until 700M to go with only Mathias Vacek and Thibau Nys of Lidl-Trek in the wheel. When Uno-X Mobility swung off, they had dropped their leaders, leaving Vacek and Nys to ride off. Nys started his sprint with the other contenders already a few seconds behind. Nys took the stage, 4 seconds ahead of Ådne Holter of Uno-X Mobility in second place and Axel Laurance of Alpecin-Deceuninck. Vacek held on to take fifth.
