Tour de France 2024 Stage 7

July 5, 2024 The first ITT this year is a test of 25.3KM through the famous vineyards of Burgundy. The first half is a false flat drag to a short 1.5KM climb at 6% before twisting back down toward Gevrey-Chambertin and the finish. Kévin Vauquelin of Arkéa-B&B Hotels set a very fast time, eclipsing Stefan Bissegger of EF-Education EasyPost by 22 seconds. Victor Campenaerts of Lotto-Dstny came in less than 1 second faster than Vauquelin and held the hot seat for a long time. Primož Roglič of Redbull-Bora Hansgrohe was the first to better Campenaerts, coming in 18 seconds faster. Remco Evenepoel of Soudal Quickstep smashed the time by 35 seconds. Tadej Pogačar of UAE was last to finish but he could not produce the speed of Evenepoel. Pogačar finished second on the stage to Evenepoel, 13 seconds behind with Roglič in third. With the win, Evenepoel completes the Grand Tour stage win hat-trick and claws back time in GC, now just 33 seconds behind Pogačar.
