Edoardo Affini of Visma-Lease a Bike set the early benchmark on the 18.5KM ITT course. Jay Vine of UAE was first to break Affini's time, 12 seconds faster. Rider after rider came in and no one was able to match the pace of Vine.
Vine took the win, marking an incredible comeback from the terrible crash in the Basque Country which nearly ended his career. Antonio Tiberi of Bahrain-Victorious was third fastest on the day, 13 seconds behind. In the GC fight, Kuss kept his lead but only by 5 seconds to Max Poole of DSM-Firmenich. Finn Fisher-Black of UAE made a big leap up the standings to third overall.
