The GC will be defined further today with a difficult 15.4KM ITT, finishing on the same climb as Stage 1. Filip Maciejuk of Redbull-Bora Hansgrohe set a good early time but a while later, Romain Bardet of DSM-Firmenich took the top spot from Maciejuk by around 15 seconds. Bardet held that time until Belgium ITT champ Tim Wellens of UAE came through to take the hot seat by over a minute.
In the end, no one was able to go faster than Wellens. Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike was closest, 9 seconds down with Felix Großschartner of UAE taking third at 15 seconds. The GC has been completely reshuffled in the process. Vingegaard takes the lead with his teammate Wilco Kelderman in second place, 24 seconds down with Diego Ulissi of UAE moving up to third place with 5 stages remaining.
