Deutschland Tour 2024 Prologue

August 21, 2024 A 2.9KM prologue through the streets of Schweinfurt kicks off the week of racing in Germany. Finishing times were stacked behind Jannik Steimle of Q36.5 for a long time with many riders within just a few seconds. It wasn't until Stefan Bissegger of EF-Education EasyPost came through 2 seconds faster that Steimle was unseated. Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek set off the ramp like the final 100M of a sprint and it paid off, breaking the previous best time by 3 seconds. In the end, no one would go faster, giving Milan the stage win and overall lead going into Stage 1. Milan's teammate Mads Pedersen was less than 1 second back with Maikel Zijlaard of Tudo Pro Cycling in third, 2 seconds behind.
