The final stage is a 134KM, five lap circuit race with the main feature of QingXiuShan which is a 1.3KM climb averaging 11.9%. The last time up QingXiuShan will top out 19KM from the finish which may be too long for a rider to go solo to the line.
At the start, six riders got clear including Tosh Van Der Sande of Visma-Lease a Bike, Stan Dewulf of Decathlon AG2R, Esteban Chaves of EF-Education EasyPost, Michael Leonard of Ineos, Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier of Lidl-Trek, and Tim Wellens of UAE. At 50KM to go, the group had 1 minute 10 seconds back to the peloton being led by Lotto-Dstny, and DSM-Firmenich. The chase was fierce and the catch was made at the bottom of QingXiuShan for the last time at just over 20KM to go.
Pavel Sivakov of UAE and Alex Baudin of Decathlon AG2R tried on a few occasions to get away but race leader Lennert Van Eetvelt of Lotto-Dstny had their match. Less than 15 riders went over the top together but that number doubled as they hit the flat road with 12KM to go.
Arkéa-B&B Hotels were the best organized through 1KM to go but the roads were wide and teams had plenty of room to overtake. Lidl-Trek came around with 400M to go but their lead out faded. Bahrain-Victorious pushed through the center and Matevž Govekar emerged and hit the line with a clean set of wheels. Marijn van den Berg of EF-Education EasyPost came through next for second with Govekar's teammate, Robert Stannard, in third. Lennert Van Eetvelt of Lotto-Dstny defended his race lead and took the overall win ahead of Oscar Onley of DSM-Firmenich and Alex Baudin of Decathlon AG2R.
