Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol 2025 Stage 4

point
Place Name: Calle Camino De Alhaurín De La Torre
Address: Calle Camino De Alhaurín De La Torre, 29130 Alhaurín de la Torre, Málaga, Spain
Details: February 22, 2025 The race starts in historic Córdoba and finishes back on the coast in Alhaurín de la Torre in the province of Málaga. There are no categorized climbs and the total elevation is less than 2,000M across the 194KM stage so a sprint for a second day in a row is possible. We do have the Golden Kilometer though which comes around 71KM to go. The break took a long time to form and when it did, fourteen riders got clear. Their lead was 2 minutes 30 seconds with 72KM to go and were being chased by Wagner-Bazin WB. No one was interested in the bonus seconds at the Golden Kilometer so they just continued to roll through and off. Petrolike pitched in a few riders which brought the gap down to 1 minute 40 seconds with 45KM to go as they started the descent off of the plateau towards the coast, following the Guadalhorce River. Eleven riders were still at the front with 20KM to go. Petrolike and Wagner-Bazin WB called off the chase and the gap grew to over 2 minutes in short order. Attacks started from the lead group with 18KM to go when they knew they would be safe from the peloton. 3KM later, the group split in half with Callum Scotson of Decathlon AG2R, Danny van der Tuuk of Euskatel-Euskadi, Diego Uriarte of Equipo Kern Pharma, Sebastian Berwick of Caja Rural Seguros RGA, Connor Swift of Ineos, and Alan Jousseaume of TotalEnergies left at the front. The six worked well together until 4KM to go when van der Tuuk stopped pulling through. Uriarte was first to attack under 2KM to go. The rest looked at each other and Uriarte had a good gap. He hit the last 300M uphill rise to the finish and was in disbelief when he crossed the line for the win. Jousseaume won the sprint for second ahead of Swift.
