Address: 33b Rue De Normandie, 53160 Bais, France
Details: May 31, 2025
Today is the hardest stage of the four days of racing by far. It's a 210KM route with nearly 3,000M of elevation but none of the climbs are longer than 2.5KM. With around 120KM to go, the riders enter a 26KM, figure eight circuit and pass through the finish line on five occasions.
Pierre Latour of TotalEnergies was at it again, attacking in the finale. With 1500M to go, he had a lead of less than 10 seconds to a small group of chasers with the remnants of the peloton another 15 seconds behind. Aaron Gate of XDS-Astana was in the chase group but broke away with 1KM to go and bridged up to Latour with 300M to go. Latour was on his last legs and did not have anything left to field off Gate. Gate rolled over the top of Latour to take the victory. The chase group was absorbed into the peloton and it was Milan Menten of Cofidis who took the field sprint for third place.
Gate now leads the GC but is on the same time as Latour. Thibaud Gruel of Groupama-FDJ slid to third overall, now sitting 2 seconds back.
