Memorial to Gino Mäder

A memorial was unveiled before Stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse on the Albulapass in memory of Gino Mäder who passed away here on a stage in 2023. The sculpture was created by his uncle, Gügi Eugster, a well-known sculptor from eastern Switzerland. The memorial is entitled "Verbunden sein" (Being Connected) and is made up of two different types of granite from the region to symbolize that everything is connected here in Earth and in life and death. bluewin.ch.
