There was over 2,500M of elevation gain over the 151KM between Duoba and Huzhu with the final peak coming 32KM before the finish. Guillermo Thomas Silva of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA and Jonathan Caicedo of Petrolike came to the finish together and it was Thomas Silva that won the sprint. The peloton of around 30 riders came in just 2 seconds later, led in by Henok Mulubrhan of XDS-Astana for third place.
