August 22, 2025 The road from Herford down to Arnsberg is more complicated than yesterday's stage. There are four categorized climbs across the 190KM with a total of 2,400M of elevation. An intermediate sprint in Büren with 90KM to go comes just before Wisor, the third climb of the day, which is 1KM at 7%. A series of three small hills leads into the final categorized climb of Seuferztal (1.8KM at 6%) with 32KM to go. The race enters a circuit 7KM later that loops over the Ruhr River in Neheim just outside of Arnsberg. The riders pass through the finish line with 21KM to go and will hear the bell for one lap to go. Bonus seconds will be on offer on top of a 500M, 6% hill with 15KM to go. The rest of the stage is generally flat and, depending on how the day is raced, could be a bunch sprint. Emils Liepins of Q36.5, Jonas Rutsch of Intermarché-Wanty, Vinzent Dorn of BIKEAID, Vincent Bodet of Picnic-PostNL, and Miguel Heidemann of REMBE-rad net went into the break and had a maximum advantage of nearly 4 minutes but with 65KM to go, the gap was down to 1 minute 40 seconds. With the Wisor climb approaching and Heidemann and Dorn tied on Mountains points, the two Germans marked each other out and they both missed the points and were nearly 1 minute behind the rest of the break. In the peloton, Will Barta of Movistar attacked on the Wisor climb and quickly caught and dropped Dorn and Heidemann but had over 1 minute to the three leaders. Barta was stuck in a chasse patate until 39KM to go when he gave in and finally drifted back into the bunch. The gap was down to 1 minute with Lidl-Trek and Visma-Lease a Bike chasing. Rutsch went on the the attack from the break on the Seuferztal and by the top with 31.5KM to go, his gap to the peloton was still hanging around 1 minute. Rutsch took the bell with 20KM to go but the peloton was bearing down and just 15 seconds behind. The catch was made one kilometer later with Ineos, Tudor Pro Cycling, and Israel-Premier Tech leading the charge towards the bonus sprint. Calm came over of the bunch as they turned onto a narrow road but the accord didn't last long. Q36.5 went on the attack to get a jump on the bonus sprint. Visma-Lease a Bike and Ineos regained control and went into the bottom of the hill at full speed, with the race all together. Sam Watson was in good position for Ineos but when the sprint opened up, he was no match for Wout Van Aert of Visma-Lease a Bike who took the 3 seconds. Laurence Pithie of Redbull-Bora Hansgrohe took 2 seconds with Edoardo Zambanini of Bahrain Victorious taking the final second available. Spanish National Champion Iván Romeo of Movistar attacked on one of the last hills before the finish with 13KM to go. He was joined by Jhonatan Narváez of UAE-XRG and Pascal Eenkhoorn of Soudal Quickstep. The group swelled to twelve riders that included Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek, Matthew Brennan of Visma-Lease a Bike, and Danny van Poppel of Redbull-Bora Hansgrohe. The group was quite cagey with no one really wanting to work together. Narváez followed a move by Søren Wærenskjold of Uno-X Mobility and they were joined by Riley Sheehan of Israel-Premier Tech. They had about 10 seconds on the rest of the break with the peloton further behind at 7KM to go. Marius Mayrhofer of Tudor Pro Cycling tried to bridge up to the three leaders and got within a few seconds but he started to fade with 2KM to go. Sheehan led through 1KM to go but Wærenskjold decided to come through and ended up getting stuck on the front. Sheehan came from third wheel and got the jump with 200M to go with Narváez sprinting on his wheel. Sheehan crossed the finish line in celebration but unfortunately for him, Narváez got there first pipping the American on the line with Wærenskjold in third. Mayrhofer hung on for fourth at 8 seconds with the majority of the peloton, including Milan and Brennan, in at 14 seconds. Wærenskjold will wear the race leader's Blue Jersey tomorrow. Narváez sits in second at 1 second with Sheehan in third place on GC at 4 seconds.
